Arthroscopy of the shoulder joint

Arthroscopy of the shoulder joint

The shoulder joint is one of the most vulnerable joints due to its unique ability of a large range of motion and at the same time stability. It is the second most frequently arthroscopic joint.

The procedure takes place under general anesthesia. Damages in the area of the shoulder joint are treated (such as damage to the joint capsule and cartilage, repeated dislocations/luxations, rotator cuff tears). After the procedure, it is necessary to wear a sling of the operated upper limb for 2-5 weeks.

The aim of the procedure is to eliminate pain and improve mobility of the shoulder with restoration of function.

In the case of a complete tear of the ligament, an operative solution is indicated.
