Arthroscopy is the most modern surgical method of treating the soft parts of the joints, in which a thin optical instrument – an arthroscope – is introduced into the joint, while the image is transmitted using an optical system and a camera to a monitor. The result is a minimal cut wound, which brings the advantage of minimal damage to healthy tissues, faster healing and less pain, lower risk of infection and shorter absence from work.
The aim of implanting a total knee joint endoprosthesis is to relieve pain, restore the range of mobility, improve stability, which has a fundamental impact on improving the quality of life
Pain in the knee joint is most often caused by arthrosis. It comes to the so-called mechanical damage to the cartilage.
In case of very severe wear of the cartilage of the knee joint, it is possible to replace the joint surface with an endoprosthesis.
Hip joint pain is most often caused by arthrosis. We call arthrosis the sum of changes in the joint area as a result of wear, injury, inflammation and congenital developmental defects.
Osteoarthritis consists in wear and tear of the smooth surfaces of the joint. As a result, the bones rub against each other, causing pain and stiffness.
After the possibilities of conservative treatment have been exhausted, the implantation of a total endoprosthesis of the hip joint is an adequate solution. Total hip replacement is the replacement of the head and socket of the hip joint with an artificial implant, which is called an endoprosthesis.
A total arthroplasty means that the entire joint needs to be replaced. This is an extensive operation during which the damaged joint is removed. This procedure is performed when the joint cannot be saved by minor correction of the most affected area.
